With 2021 winding down we have a lot to be thankful for.  This has been our best year yet as we successfully accomplished the following:

  1. A successful Gameday Youth season for 16 of our teams.

  2. A successful Gameday High School Summer season for 12 of our teams.

  3. Hosted the Colorado Rockies AAA expansion team at our facility.

  4. Hosted 30 youth and high school baseball tournaments.

  5. A successful Gameday High School Fall season for 8 of our teams.

  6. Hosted several successful Camps and Clinics for players of all ages.

“The game of baseball brings people together and Gameday makes it time well spent”.  2022 marks our 10th year anniversary as a baseball program in Colorado.  We could not have accomplished all that we have without the people behind Gameday.  Over the course of our 10 years we have seen a lot and have touched many lives within the state of Colorado.  We’re so proud of the group of extraordinary people that manage the day-to-day operations of Gameday and our group of coaches and instructors that bring our program to life every season.  Mike Koons (General Manager), Rick Eisenberg (Chaplain and Player Development), Trey Reinke (Facility/Field Operations and Instructor), Alex Achtermann (Performance Coach and Instructor), Justin Favaro (Marketing), and new to the program but a longtime Gameday parent, Lindsey Waymire (Operations).  A special thank you to Hollie Eisenberg who is leaving us this year to be 100% mom to her two beautiful daughters.  Positivity attracts positivity and we are blessed that like-minded people have found us and continue to find us.

Over these last 10 years I estimate we had 10,000 baseball players come through our doors and play on our fields.  Much like Malcom Gladwell’s book “The Outliers” 10,000 hours is the theory that it takes that many hours to become successful or an expert in a field. We’d had the chance to watch and train 10,000 baseball players for far more than 10,000 hours.   Over this time we’ve become experts in our field as we continue to grow and modify our teaching content and approach.  2022 will be our best year ever and we are happy to have you on this journey with us.

As we’ve watched and taught players over the years there are some trends that we have seen.  In no certain order, here are the observations:

  1. The best baseball players we’ve had through our program had equal parts of Talent and Work Ethic. These are the players that were athletically gifted and worked hard outside of their practice times and in the off season to improve their game. These players put in the hours repetitively working on baseball skills.

  2. Players with just Talent who didn’t put in the work were out-matched throughout the years by players who had less talent but consistently worked harder.

  3. Baseball is a game of failure and the players that take the long-view of their development and work on their mental game (not worrying about the short term results and remaining focused) tend to be more successful and play the game for longer.

  4. Players who work on their bodies and becoming bigger, stronger and faster (Strength and Performance work) will typically have more success against equally talented players.

  5. Being a good person and good teammate matters immensely to the future success of a baseball player.

We hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas and we look forward to seeing you in 2022!

Jacoby’s Fight

On Saturday, December 4th we hosted a hitting clinic with 100% of the proceeds going to Jacoby Kramp’s fight against cancer.  The Colorado baseball community showed up in HUGE numbers and we were able to collect $15,000 for Jacoby.  It was a great day of fellowship and baseball instruction and an even better day for humanity!  We were humbled by the number of people who came out to support young Jacoby.  If you would like to learn more about Jacoby’s fight please visit www.jacobystrong.com

Gameday Jr. Spring Training (Ages 7-10)

NEW for Gameday in 2022 and created based on an overwhelming demand…The Gameday Jr. Training program for players ages 7-10u (Players age in 2022). Registration is currently open and will sell out. https://road2gameday.com/2022-gameday-jr-spring-training

8 weeks of instruction on Saturdays from 10:00am – 12:00pm beginning on Saturday, January 8th and going for (8) consecutive Saturdays concluding on March 5th.

The Gameday Jr. program is a spring training program modeled after the Gameday youth program where players receive quality instruction from former D1 and/or professional baseball players. Instruction will be focused on all fundamentals of the game of baseball: Hitting, Throwing, Infield/Outfield Defense, Pitching and Catching. In addition, since the players are young, we will be working with them on “Baseball 101” so they have a good working knowledge of how the game is played and their role on the baseball field. This includes instruction on how to play all positions on the field and how to play the game the right way!

This program will provide players with a great training foundation heading into their 2022 youth baseball season.

Gameday Hat Provided with program. Players will be required to wear baseball attire, (baseball pants, socks, athletic shirt and plastic cleats or athletic shoes.)
